File Matching Guide

Use this guide to troubleshoot any filename matching issues.

If there is an investor called "John Investments". Only the following are allowed between words in the investor name:

comma ", "
period "."
underscore "_"
hyphen "-"

All others will result in a mismatch.

The following example filename variations will result in a match:

John Investments
joHn Investments
!john Investments
johNInvestments&*()
JOHNInvestments123
###johN Investments
John_Investments

!!!!JOHNInvestments
123JOHN Investments
John Investments
john.investments
John-Investments
(John Investments)

IMPORTANT: If the investor name has special characters, such as "&", the system will look for the investor name including "&" in the filename.

Non-matches

If there is no exact match, the system will leave the dropdown menu blank so the investor can be selected manually. All other variations not listed in the section above should return a non-match, resulting in a blank investor dropdown menu, as seen in the image below.
