Bulk File Upload Matching

During Bulk File Uploads, Sensr Portal can file match in one of two ways:

  1. Heuristic Matching is a legacy matching feature that produces accurate results for a low volume of files and simple names. However, it is unreliable for large volumes of files with complex/lengthy file names. Hence, this is only recommended for low volumes.
  2. Exact Matching is the recommended feature for all clients going forward as it produces better results and is more reliable for high volumes of files. It will produce a match only if there is an exact match between the investor name in the system and the file name. This feature has some tolerance to allow for typos in the file name in the instance of human error.

TIP: To enable Heuristic or Exact Matching, contact Client Success for assistance.

Exact Matching Examples

Assume there is an investor called "John Investments". Only the following are allowed between words in the investor name:

  • comma ", "
  • period "."
  • underscore "_"
  • hyphen "-"

All others will result in a mismatch.

The following example filename variations will result in a match:

  • John Investments
  • joHn Investments
  • !john Investments
  • johNInvestments&*()
  • JOHNInvestments123
  • ###johN Investments
  • John_Investments
  • !!!!JOHNInvestments
  • 123JOHN Investments
  • John Investments
  • john.investments
  • John-Investments
  • (John Investments)
  • 2019 Final K1 46843 NYJohn Investments.pdf
  • 2019 Final K1 46843 NYjoHn Investments.pdf
  • 2019 Final K1 46843 NYJohnInvestments.pdf
  • 2019 Final K1 46843 NYJohn.Investments.pdf
  • 2019 Final K146843 NYJohn Investments.pdf
  • 2019 Final K1 NY John-Investments.pdf
  • 2019 Final K1 NY John_Investments.pdf

IMPORTANT: If the investor name has special characters, such as "&", the system will look for the investor name including "&" in the filename.

Mismatches

If there is no exact match, the system will leave the dropdown menu blank so the investor can be selected manually. All other variations not listed in the section above should return a mismatch, resulting in a blank investor dropdown menu, as seen in the image below.
