Sensr Portal allows admins to promote a current opportunity to groups of existing contacts.

How to Promote a Current Opportunity within the Portal

The Sensr Portal has some handy tools for getting your current opportunity in front of your contacts.  These tools offer passive promotion such as a tile for the current opportunity on a contact's investments page, or more active promotion such as sending contacts updates on the current opportunity.

How to View the Appearance of a Current Opportunity with a Test Contact

  1. First, create a test contact for your system by creating a contact called "Test Contact" with an email you choose.
  2. Navigate to the current opportunity in question.
  3. Click on the Access tab to provide the Test Contact access.
  4. Under Contacts unassigned to investors section click +Add Contact, then select Test Contact and click Save.
  5. Ensure the Test Contact is listed in the Contacts unassigned to investors section under Contact.

  1. Click on Test Contact to open their contact profile and click on View As Contact.

  1. This will open the portal from the Test Contact's perspective.  Click on the Investments tab, you should see the current opportunity at the top of the page if you published the property and granted access to your test contact.  You can now explore the experience from a contact's perspective.


Passive Promotion: How to Show the Current Opportunity to Specific Contacts or All Contacts on the Portal

When a contact is granted access to a current opportunity, the current opportunity will appear at the top of their Investments page on the portal, as seen above.  This is a great way to get contacts to see the current opportunity when they are exploring their own investments.  You can enable the current opportunity to appear for a contact by enabling access to that current opportunity for a contact.  There are three methods to provide access: 

  • Individual Access
  • Tagged Access
  • Access for All

How to Show the Current Opportunity to Specific Contacts

  1. Navigating to the fund page for the related current opportunity and click on the Access tab. 
  2. Under Contacts unassigned to investors section click +Add Contact.
  3. Then select the contact you want to provide access to view this current opportunity on the portal.  For example, we want Bernie W. Ross Sr. to be able to access the Metro Condos current opportunity.

  1. Click Save. Now Bernie will see the current opportunity on their investments page. 

Show the Current Opportunity to a Tagged Group of Contacts

There may be a scenario where you want to provide access to a current opportunity to a specific group of contacts before showing this current opportunity to all contacts on your portal.  You can achieve this with tags.  For example, you may have a tag called Preferred assigned to an exclusive group of contacts on your portal whom you would like to provide first access to this current opportunity.  Like adding a specific contact, you add a specific tag or tags for access to this current opportunity to allow contacts assigned this tag to view the current opportunity. 

NOTE: Contacts won't know they have access because of a tag, as this functionality is only seen by admins.  

  1. To add access for specific tags, navigate to the Access tab and select +Add Tag under Contacts unassigned to investors.

  1. Then enter the tags you would like to apply to access this fund and click Save. Once you save, contacts tagged with at least one of these tags will see the current opportunity on their portal.


How to Show the Current Opportunity to All Contacts

You can set the current opportunity as visible by all contacts using a shortcut in the Access tab under the Contacts unassigned to investors section. This will provide access to all contacts on your portal on their current opportunity page located under the investments tab.


Actively Promote a Current Opportunity on the Portal

You can actively promote a current opportunity to contacts on the portal by creating an update. 

  1. Navigate to the fund page of the related current opportunity.
  2. Click on the Updates tab.
  3. Click +Add.

  4. On the popup that appears, select the type of template (Master, Custom, or None), choose your option from the dropdown menu and click Proceed to Update.

NOTE: Once you have completed the update and sent yourself a test email, you are ready to send the update - keep in mind that updates will only be sent to contacts who are granted access.  Access is explained in the passive promotion section of this article.
