Statements vs. Fund Updates vs. Newsletters

Sensr Portal supports different communication tools to easily relay information to your investors. You have the added benefit of flexibility and control over what information is shared and who has access to it. For example, you can send communications to specific user groups with tags to contacts with access to the fund on Sensr Portal.   Whether you want to share statements, fund updates, or send email communications, one of these options should be able to meet your needs.

Statements

Statements are typically used when you want to inform investors about fund details.  Depending on how you have the fund page set up, this includes information such as Estimated IRR, Capital Invested, Capital Outstanding, funding date, etc as well as a summary of distributions to date. Statement templates are available in the portal with the provided stationary. Or you can upload your own letterhead stationery and create your own templates as well. A couple of examples of the default templates are listed below.

  1. Detailed view - a statement containing the user's name and address, statement description, detailed view of their current investment details (as seen when an investor views the fund on their account), and distributions for a date range specified.
  2. Summary view - a statement containing the user's name, statement description, summarized view of their current investment details (as seen when an investor views their investment tile on the Investments tab), and distributions for a date range specified.

Fund Updates

Fund Updates are a great way to keep investors informed and allow all contacts who have access to the fund on the software to view the related update. These updates can be launched from the Email Wizard workflow to send emails as well as publish emails as a fund update, as needed.

Newsletters

Newsletters are useful in various situations such as company updates to send to all contacts, or multiple fund updates to send to relevant user groups in one comprehensive newsletter.  In addition, you can control which contacts will receive the newsletter and have access to it when they are signed in.  This can include general update newsletters to be sent to all or only some contacts, or a simple newsletter.

NOTE: In the event there is more than one investor with the same contact invested in the same fund, the newsletter will only be sent out once to the contact to reduce inbox spam.

Tip: When sending an email communication to contacts, Sensr Portal makes it easy for you to manage bounced emails in the event you receive a bounced email notification after sending.
